Meet Ken Denis

Ken Denis: beauty guru, makeup goals and MCTV's latest collaborator is in the building.

Not only is he gon take you through a super fun colourful eye look, but you can recreate it yourself from our fave MC retailers!

Describe yourself  three words…
Whitty. Organised. Fun.

Mascara… Mouth open or closed?
Mouth open! Honestly I tried doing it closed for my video but I just can’t help it! It’s just how I naturally am when I am applying stuff around the eyes

Name your beauty icon?
Eva Longoria. She is absolutely stunning and can rock a smokey eye and nude lip like no other!

How did you first get into beauty?
I wore makeup early in my teens to help cover up a few blemishes but what really got me into beauty was a break-up. I felt  like I needed to reinvent myself and the beauty world definitely gave me that.

How do you know which brush does what?
I pretty much learned from watching youtube videos and from trial and error. Sometimes brushes you see work on your favourite creator just don’t work for you and that’s ok. You just need to try out different types of brushes to see what you like best.

How bad is it really to sleep in your make-up? Asking for a friend!
OMG it is so bad! I learned this the hard way back in my clubbing days. I would get so tired and lazy that I would just sleep in it and wake up the next day with a 50/50 chance that I grew a huge pimple or my skin looking horrible even after washing it all off.

Your secret tips for perfecting a winged eyeliner?
A lot of practice and patience and investing in a really good felt tip eyeliner. Not everyone is blessed to have symmetrical faces so don’t expect your eyeliner to be identical for both sides. Play around with it to develop your own unique technique for your eyes. I also say a good felt tip because it provides the easiest and best way to create the perfect winged eyeliner.

What’s the most outrageous look you have ever done?
I still think the half glam half galaxy look I did has got to be one of the most outrageous looks I’ve done so far. I just remember it being one of the first creative looks I’ve made and it took ages to blend but once I had completed it, it looked really good.
