The Body Shop was the first global beauty brand to fight against animal testing. In fact, their efforts (together with their partner Cruelty Free International) helped lead to a European Union ban in 2013.
But The Body Shop isn’t stopping there. Did you know that over 80% of countries still allow animal testing? Cruelty Free International estimates that a huge 500,000 animals are used worldwide in cosmetics testing every year, despite the fact that there are reliable alternatives available.
The launch of The Body Shop’s Forever Against Animal Testing campaign is calling for a complete ban on animal testing for cosmetic products and ingredients, everywhere around the world. This is the most ambitious campaign ever against animal testing in cosmetics, and they are aiming to bring 8 million signatures to the United Nations.
