George Rose x Australian Childhood Foundation Mural

Help defend childhood through art and the (super)power of love.
Superheroes are great and all, but have you heard of The Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF)? They dedicate their lives to defending and protecting kids, providing them with the warmth and support they all deserve, and restoring childhood through the (super)power of love.

We love what the ACF stands for, so we’re going to shine a big ‘ol spotlight on all the important work they do. Together with the insanely talented local muralist George Rose, we’ll be transforming part of our Level 2 Link Bridge with a bright and beautiful mural.

Want to get involved and be a force for change with us? It’s so easy!

BE SOCIAL!
Snap a pic of the mural and post it on your Instagram feed with #DefendChildhood.

You’ll be helping to spread the word, and after you post, the ACF will get in touch with more info on how you can become a DEFENDER (the epic superhero name they give people who want to make an ongoing difference in the lives of children). Cool, right?

GIVE A LITTLE
Can you think of anything else more worthwhile to spend a few dollars on? Didn’t think so.

For as little as $4, you can help the ACF keep abused and neglected children safe — as they should be. No spare change? No problem.

Donating is as easy as tapping your device or card at our Donation Point, which can be found next to the mural. If you want to add a bit more, or can’t make it to the mural, you can also donate online here.

TAKE ACTION

WHEN + WHERE
You can check out George painting the mural on the Level 2 Link Bridge (the leafy green sanctuary down the very end past Country Road) from 17 to 19 May. It will then remain in place for a little while. See you there!

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Melbourne-based artist George Rose is no stranger to working with kids and teens in need. She’s held two residencies at the Bimberi Youth Detention Centre, working with youth through murals and art workshops during their school holidays.

George also teams up with BIGhART — Australia’s leading campaigning arts organisation — on a regular basis. The organisation pairs the arts with social justice to produce Project O, an award-winning initiative which drives change in rural communities affected by family violence.
