From Knox Place to Menzies Alley, all corners of Melbourne Central are spending May celebrating the history of our famous laneways and the art and culture that make them so great. In the middle of it all is another massive day of food, fashion, art and entertainment, when One Day Shopping Festival returns on Wednesday 20 May. Go back in time on a free laneway tour, grab a snap of your friends in front of our favourite street art landmarks in our Photo Booth, and see how some of Melbourne’s best sketchers and Instagrammers interpret the laneways in a new exhibition.

WALK TO ART TOUR
Find out the fascinating stories behind some of Melbourne Central’s most famous artworks. From the Lucy Lucy and Slicer mural in Menzies Alley to the floating Hamish Munro sculpture on Level 2, Bernadette Alibrando will share all there is to know on her free Walk to Art Tour. Book here.

UNLOCKED TOURS - LANEWAY EDITION
Local historian Dale Campisi will be leading curious minds on a special laneway-themed edition of his Unlocked Tours. The classic route winds through Melbourne Central and reveals all the secrets of the historic Shot Tower, beloved Marionette Watch and astonishing Glass Cone. This free new tour promises to be just as eye-opening!

URBAN SKETCHERS EXHIBITION
See how the sketchers see our corner of the city in a new exhibition of one-of-a-kind drawings by Melbourne’s Urban Sketchers group. Their interpretations will be displayed in the Glass Cube on Level 2.
