The Blush Hunter’s Guide to a Foolproof Spring Face

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate, $61; Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 30+, $38; Mecca Cosmetica Lip De Luscious SPF 25+, $28; Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, $35.
When it comes to the warmer months my morning motto is always “prep yourself before you wreck yourself”. That means starting with a good base, then all-sunscreen-everything (including lip balm!) and keeping a face mist around for those moments when your dehydrated skin is ready for its equivalent of a knock-off drink.

Face mists are the most affordable ‘fancy’ skincare treat I've ever discovered and Jurlique's Rosewater Balancing Mist leaves me feeling like an actual elegant adult being, which is incredibly rare during summer.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation, $85; Nars Multiple in Orgasm, $56; Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil, $26.
Beauty bloggers spend a lot of time throwing the phrase "hero product" around, but what constitutes as one varies depending on who you ask. For me, they need to be doing multiple things at once because I'm busy and lazy, so I need products that can get with the program, which these all do remarkably well.

Behold: the ultimate triple threat for those makeup bags!
The Bobbi Brown Foundation leaves your face feeling like a lush cloud and works hard for the money the entire time it's on; the Nars Multiple can be used for anything and everything from blush to highlighting to emergency eyeshadow and lipstick, and is a perfect spring shade; and this BDB pencil, despite looking quite dark, is quite universal and can be matched to almost any brow colour.

MAC Satin Lipstick in Amorous in Faux and MAC Matte Lipstick in D for Danger, $36 each; MAC Studio Chromagraphic Pencil, $32.
Aside from a handful of crumpled receipts, an assortment of lipsticks is a staple in my bag at all times. Lipstick suggests you've put in effort without actually doing much and I'm seriously into this.

If you're trying to sell that ‘effort’ idea to your boss after a late night, the Chromagraphic Pencil is also great as it brightens up your eyes and alludes to more sleep than you've probably had. If you got into darker lips over winter these shades are perfect transitionals—less ‘The Craft’ and more ‘Spring Race Ready’.

MAC Nail Lacquer in Soiree and in Kale Salad, $22; manicure by Odyssey Nails, $20.
These colours are incredible! Soiree says you're down to party but you can still pay your bills on time, and nothing says you take your beauty and Saturday brunch seriously quite like Kale Salad nail polish. If you have time after your brunch, I recommend getting a manicure. They, too, leave me feeling like an elegant adult being for 20 bucks!

Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, $86; Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, $61.
We all know that after the show it's the after party but what we sometimes forget is that “the after party” is really code for a good hydrating treatment, some moisture therapy and a good night's sleep. There is no greater party than an evening skincare routine and sleep, I.M.O.!
