Connie Cao—My Favourite Things

Blogged by: Connie Cao 26 Apr 2016 View comments
Blogger, style guru, floral designer, globetrotter, student—reading Connie Cao’s bio, you get the impression there isn’t anything she doesn’t do! With an enviable wardrobe and holiday snaps that make us want to jump on a plane, Connie—who runs the popular blog, K Is For Kani—was the perfect candidate to go in search of her favourite things at Melbourne Central. From adorable homeware to fun fashion, Connie’s curated selection puts us in the mood to shop. Click through to see her haul.

Oishii Cotton Chambray Apron from Mozi
Melbourne store Mozi is the ultimate go-to for fun and quirky homewares and as a lover of all things #KIsForKaniLovesSushi and Japanese, I’m completely obsessed with this Japanese style illustrated apron. Whether it’s for cooking or craft, this unique criss cross tie back apron is bound to be your favourite companion. It’ll keep you clean and cute at the same time!

Nolan Gold 24 Piece Cutlery Set from Country Road
I’ve been lusting over a gold cutlery set ever since I used some gold forks in a local café in Richmond so I was so thrilled to find these in Country Road. The finishing is modern and beautiful—they’re sure to add a luxurious pop of colour to any table setting.

Svenska Hem Små Stunder teacup, teapot and wooden tray from kikki.K
Homewares are honestly having a moment in my heart these days and I just love kikki.K’s latest collection. The beautiful porcelain has a really natural finish and the gold foil detailing is the cherry on top. Give me anything gold and I’ll run straight to it.

Fred Fowler tee from Gorman
Subtitled Johnny skirt from General Pants
If I could only add one thing to my wardrobe this season, it would be a denim skirt and General Pants Co. just happened to have the exact style of denim skirt I’ve been dreaming of. A-line fit, button-down front and pockets—it ticks all the boxes and is a great basic piece to mix and match with, especially with printed t-shirts like this one from Gorman. I’m pretty sure I own too many printed t-shirts from Gorman but I mean, they’re just too good to pass up.

Haust Boot from Búl
Another Melbourne favourite you can find at Melbourne Central is Búl. Their gorgeous Haust boot is the perfect colour this season and are high enough to add some height, but still low enough for comfy 24/7 wear.

Essential Throw from Typo
Winter is coming soon, so now is the perfect time to pick out a new throw to get you through those shivering nights. My favourite throws are always a little bit fun—think pom-poms and tassels in soft pastel hues—so this one from Typo definitely fits the bill! Keep it on the bed or transport it elsewhere for a warm little indoor picnic!

Lotus Eye Mask from Sephora
Sephora has finally arrived in Melbourne! The flagship store is packed with shoppers whenever I pass by and I’m as excited as the next person when it comes to shopping here. One of my favourite Sephora brand products are their masks. The colourful packaging is right up my alley and after trying out their Green Tea face mask, I can’t wait to try their eye masks, too.

Hemp Foot Protector from The Body Shop
During the cooler months, I’m often riddled with dry skin. This intensively moisturising foot protector cream is a bestseller at The Body Shop, I can’t wait to add this to my routine.

Avocado Hand Cream from The Face Shop
My recent month in Taiwan has got me obsessed with Korean skincare and beauty and I’m so glad that I can still get my Korean beauty fix back home in Melbourne. How cute is this hand cream from The Face Shop? It makes for a super sweet gift for a friend and the avocado scent is just delicious.
