Meet Alyce Greer

What? You haven't heard of MCTV yet? That's ridiculous.

We're giving you backstage passes to our amaze MCTV creators who we've tasked with entertaining you during iso.

First up: Alyce Greer, fashion blogger and copywriter extraordinaire at Bossy Copywriting. We've asked her all the important questions.

Star Sign?
✰ Gemini ✰ (THE BEST ONE)

If you were an Arnotts biscuit which one would you be and why?
Oh, definitely Hundreds & Thousands. Colourful, fun, sweet and happy. I’m also five years old on the inside.

What’s your spirit animal?
A butterfly — they symbolise playfulness, spirituality, individuality and celebration.

Who would you be if you were a character from Tiger King?
😅 I put this question off for a good 15 minutes, simply because I didn’t want to admit that I’m Joe Exotic. I relate to him on a deep level when he wears daytime sequins and says things like “I will never financially recover from this” (me after a night out, or shopping trip).

How are you staying sane while working from home?
Routine, music, snacks, movies, exercise, cooking, colouring in, walks, makeup, my puppy Vinnie and wine. Not necessarily in that order.

Top 5 brands/ shops to build out your wardrobe?
Easy — I’d choose Glassons and General Pants for my everyday look, Nique for good quality basics, sass & bide for statement pieces and Tony Bianco for all the shoes. I’d also sneak in Mecca, seeing as it technically goes in the bathroom and not the wardrobe.

What is the weirdest thing you’ve done in the name of fashion?
Ah, do the mid-2000s count? Like, everything I wore across all of the years? Because my Britney obsession and op-shopping phase would be strong contenders.

You’re a copywriter. What is your favourite word?
That is like asking me to choose my favourite wardrobe items, or choose between my children?! That’s okay, we all secretly have favourites. My #1 word is ‘sonder’ — it’s the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own, populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness.

Any advice on entering the copywriting world?
IMO, having an individual writing style is everything, so figure out what yours is before anything else. Then, write lots and lots and lots, because it’s important to have plenty of examples of your work. Like most jobs, it’s crucial to get as much experience as possible when you’re starting out, so don’t be afraid to work for free… it’s only more stuff to put in your portfolio!
