No primer or foundation is as effective a base as healthy, happy skin! Melbourne blogger K is for Kani stopped by Melbourne Central this week to tell us about the products and treatments she's relying on to keep a fresh and hydrated face this spring.

For a little pampering, head to Self-Centred Medi Spa at Melbourne Central, one of Melbourne’s best day spas. I like the jet peel: a painless treatment using supersonic technology for instant glowing skin. If you fall in love, a monthly membership gets you a complimentary monthly treatment.

Mecca, Sephora, Clinique, Kiehl's

I love the feel and smell of Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple 3 in 1 cleanser from Mecca Maxima; Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel from Sephora is a best seller for obvious reasons: the gel formula is especially good for skin on the oilier side; and the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado from Kiehl’s is a feast for the eyes!

The Face Shop

Sheet masks are all the rage right now. These juicy Real Nature Face Masks from The Face Shop are soaked with serum for the perfect night in, and with ingredients like peony root extract, green tea extract and goji berry extract for just $2 a pop, how can you resist? I’ll have one of each!

Jurlique, Sephora, Clinique

Two new steps I’ve loved adding into my routine this year are the essence and serum. Essence isn’t so popular in western skincare yet but has been big in Asian skincare routines for a while, so I am very excited to see companies like Jurlique launch their very own version, the Activating Water Essence, so we can easily access this essential step. The Jurlique essence works on a cellular level and hydrates, conditions, revitalises and preps your skin for better serum and moisturiser absorption. Press it onto your skin after your toner and follow with your serum of choice. For spring-ready skin, I love the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum from Sephora; the nutrients just soak right in, and the promise of less noticeable pores is a big tick as well.

Mecca Maxima sunbrella sunscreen

Following Mecca Maxima’s best selling SPF 50+ sunscreen is the new Mecca Sunbrella sunscreen spray that only hit shelves a few weeks ago. It’s made for touch ups so you can spray it on top of your makeup during the day. Now there are really no excuses not to be sun smart when you’re on that late afternoon run!

Lush cosmetics

This sugar-sweet lip scrub from Lush Cosmetics smells so delicious that you’ll almost want to lick it off; you’ve got to smell it to believe it! Lush’s organic lip scrub is perfect for getting your lips ready for a flawless lip product application.

Alpha H Liquid Gold Sephora

Refresh your skin for spring with Alpha H Liquid Gold. It’s a cult product and best-seller from Sephora that promises healthy, radiant skin via an intensive overnight treatment. Apply a few drops using a cotton pad and head straight to bed so it can work its magic overnight.

Kieh'ls facial cream

There are so many goodies to pick up from Kiehl’s that you just have to try them all! I love the Ultra Facial Cream as my night cream, the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado before bed, the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturising Serum Concentrate for soft radiant skin, and the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve for extreme moisture—it's perfect for those who craft with their hands like me. Those obsessed with overnight products like I am should definitely also try the Midnight Recovery Concentrate; it's a nifty evening treatment for radiant looking skin.
